Bookkeeping and payroll services — monthly rhythm, not fire drills.

Clean books every month, payroll and statutory filings on time, and an MIS that the founder or CFO actually uses. Delivered in Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks or Xero — whichever tool the business already runs on.

What usually breaks

The books catch up with you.

Every growing business goes through the same cycle. In the beginning, the founder or a family member handles the books. Then an accountant takes over part-time. Then GST returns start slipping. Then investor diligence exposes a six-month gap. Then payroll misses a PF filing and a letter arrives from the department.

None of this is exotic. The fix is steady monthly execution by one team on one calendar, with reports the leadership actually reads.

Bookkeeping

Monthly bookkeeping, done properly.

Bookkeeping means more than data entry. Reconciliations, GST and TDS mapping, closing entries, and a set of reports that let the founder see what the business is actually doing this month.

01

Monthly bookkeeping

Data entry, bank reconciliation, ledger review and closing entries. Everything is posted to the tool you already use so nothing has to migrate.

02

Reconciliation

Bank, credit card, wallet, GST portal and payment gateway reconciliations run every month. Mismatches are flagged and fixed at source instead of being carried over.

03

MIS reports

A monthly MIS covering revenue, expenses, receivables, payables, cash position and profitability by segment. Delivered in a format the founder or CFO can actually use.

04

Year-end close and audit support

Books tied out to the audited financials with schedules, confirmations and reconciliations. Auditors get clean data and a single point of contact.

Payroll

Payroll processing and statutory filings.

Salaries out on time every month, with all statutory pieces filed on schedule. Nothing is glamorous about it. The value shows up when you never have to think about it.

01

Salary processing

Monthly salary computation with all statutory and voluntary deductions, payslip generation, bank upload files and coordination with your HR team on joiners, exits and revisions.

02

TDS on salary and Form 16

Section 192 TDS computed and deposited monthly, quarterly Form 24Q filed, and Form 16 issued to employees at year end. Includes handling of investment declarations and proofs.

03

PF, ESI and professional tax

Monthly contributions and returns for EPF, ESI and professional tax, with employee onboarding, exits and any inspections or notices from the departments.

04

Compliance calendar

PF by 15th, ESI by 15th, TDS by 7th, PT as per state. All tracked and filed on schedule so late fees do not creep in.

Tools we work in

Whichever accounting tool you already use.

Migrations are expensive and rarely worth the disruption. In most engagements we join you inside the tool you already use, clean things up if needed, and take over the monthly cadence from there.

  • Tally Prime

Most common in India. Strong for GST, TDS and audit trails.

  • Zoho Books

Cloud-native. Fits well with Zoho CRM, invoicing and Indian tax needs.

  • QuickBooks Online

Common with international businesses and cross-border founders.

  • Xero

Preferred for e-commerce and businesses with UK or Australia links.

Who it suits

Where this typically lands.

Founders after incorporation

A clean month-one cadence covering GST, TDS and books. Nothing accumulates as backlog.

SMEs with growing headcount

Payroll, PF and ESI handled cleanly as the team crosses 20, 50 and 100 employees.

Businesses migrating from an accountant

Data migration, opening balances tied out, and a diagnostic on what the previous set of books actually contains.

Frequently asked

Bookkeeping and payroll — the questions we get.

Practical answers on how bookkeeping and payroll services India typically work at Cosmoura.

What accounting tools do you support?

Tally Prime, Zoho Books, QuickBooks Online and Xero. We work in whichever tool the business already uses. If setting up from scratch, we recommend based on scale, GST needs, integration with billing/POS and cost.

What is included in monthly bookkeeping?

Data entry, bank and credit card reconciliation, ledger review, closing entries, trial balance, P&L and balance sheet preparation, GST and TDS mapping, and a monthly MIS report showing revenue, expenses, receivables, payables and cash position.

How does payroll processing work?

You share monthly attendance and any changes (new joiners, exits, salary revisions, reimbursements). We compute salaries with all statutory deductions, generate payslips, coordinate bank uploads, file PF/ESI/professional tax returns, deduct and deposit TDS on salary, and issue Form 16 annually.

Do you handle PF, ESI and professional tax registrations and filings?

Yes. Registration where required, monthly and annual filings, employee onboarding, exits, and any inspections or notices. These are included in ongoing payroll engagements.

What if our books are behind by 6 months or a year?

We start with a diagnostic — the scope of missing entries, missing filings and any compliance risks. Backlog cleanup is scoped separately from ongoing bookkeeping so the numbers do not surprise you. Common causes: change of accountants, tool migrations, or the founder-doing-it-all phase.

What is a realistic monthly cost of outsourced bookkeeping and payroll?

It depends on volume of transactions, complexity (multi-state, multi-currency, e-commerce), payroll headcount and reporting frequency. We share a fixed monthly retainer after a 30-minute diagnostic call — no per-hour billing surprises.
